The MoneyPants Web Site may be lighthearted and entertaining but we take your privacy very seriously. We fully appreciate that you are trusting us with personal and financial information, and we are committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your information. We want you to know what information we collect, how we safeguard it, and the circumstances in which we might share it.

When we say “we” or “us” in this document, we are referring to the website MoneyPants.com as well as Argent Enterprises, L.L.C., the company that owns the website. “You” refers to you, the end user.

Making a Long Story Short . . .

We will collect personal identification information from you only if you voluntarily submit such information to us. The information we collect is used only to deliver services to you and to improve the content of our Web Site. We do not sell or otherwise intentionally disclose any information you provide to us unless you specifically authorize us to do so.

Security

We exercise great care in providing safe transmission of your information from your computer to our servers (unless sent by a means outside of our control, such as e-mail). For your security, we use technology which encrypts your financial information with a minimum of 128-bit security and we store your information on a secure server.

What We Collect and How We Use It

The information we collect depends on the features and services you use. You can use a lot of the MoneyPants Web Site, such as Interview of the Week and True Confessions, without disclosing any information to us. Certain features of the MoneyPants Web Site, however, require you to disclose varying amounts of personal information.

General Site Features

For example, to get the newsletter, you have to tell us your email address so we can send it to you. To enter MoneyPants Lounge, you have to give us your name and email address so you can read and post on the message boards. To buy a gift subscription, you have to let us know your name, billing address and credit card information so we can charge you for the subscription. You also have to give us the name and e-mail address of the person to whom you are giving the subscription so we can notify them.

CashTrack

To use CashTrack, you have to provide us with your name, billing address and credit card information so we can charge you for the subscription in accordance with the terms of the agreement you enter into with us. You also have to tell us your email address because this is how we recognize you. Our web server automatically recognizes the e-mail address if you check the box requesting us to remember you. Otherwise, our web server will not automatically recognize your e-mail address or computer. To use CashTrack, you must provide financial information such as categories of bills, how much you anticipate spending, and how much you actually spend. To use CashTrack, you do not need to enter any financial details that would identify you. In fact, for reasons of common sense, we encourage you NOT to enter any financial details that would identify you in the CashTrack system. The financial information you enter while using CashTrack is not for our benefit. We store your CashTrack financial information on our web server for your convenience only.

Exceptions

We have the following exceptions to these policies: We will release specific information about you or your account to comply with any valid legal inquiry or process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute or court order. We will also release specific information in special cases, such as if there is an attempted breach of the security of the Web Site, or a physical or property threat to you or others. We may also transfer user information, including personally identifiable information, in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, the sale of related assets or corporate division or other fundamental corporate change.

Please note that if you give out personal information online -- for example, on one of our public forums such as a message board -- that information can be collected and used by third parties. Although we strive to protect our users' privacy, we cannot guarantee the security of information you post in these forums. You disclose such information at your own risk.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your information and password. You shall be responsible for all uses of your registration, whether or not authorized by you. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your registration or password.

We May Collect Non-Personal Identification Information

"Cookie" technology: A "cookie" is an element of data that a web site can send to your browser, which may then store it on your system. Most browsers are set to accept cookies. "IP address tracking": An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer when you are on the Internet. When you request pages from our Sites, our servers log your IP address.
