Self-Representing Artist and eBay Power Seller
1. What’s in your wallet right now?Photos of my girls, $6.42, credit card, debit card, my (expired) driver's licence, annual membership cards to the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, misc. receipts. 2. What do you wish your parents taught you about money? Both my parents are hard-working, blue collar people. They grew up during the depression, and they both had a strong sense of never wasting anything. I am one of five kids and money was tight. However, instead of being told, "We don't have enough money to buy that," I wish I had heard, "What can we do to make that happen?" 3. What is your worst habit around finances?Paperwork. I am awful at filing and keeping track of receipts. Thankfully, my husband keeps track of all those things. I hate shopping and don't own many 'nice' things. 4. What makes you happy?Happily, I'm about the happiest person I know, and it doesn't take much to keep me that way. I like to get my way, and with having our own business, I get it! I love to paint, and I do it for a living. I also like to be with people who are happy and open and positive about life. 5. Personal philosophy around money?Money is good - not for the things it can buy, but for the freedom and security it can provide. 6. Where does money come from?Vision, sacrifice, focus and a lot of hard work. 7. What would you do with a million dollars?Pay off my house, take my mom on a cruise around the world, and I'd invest the remainder. 8. What is your most prized possession? My children's artwork (I frame a lot of it and it's hanging all over my house). 9. Who is your role model? My mother - hands down. She is the most kind and generous and life-loving person I know. 10. What is your greatest achievement?Staying married for 17+ years and counting. 11. What organizations do you support?Table Mountain Animal Shelter (we foster lots of kittens) and the Salvation Army. 12. What contributions to society do you want to make?To raise kids who are happy and not a burden on society. 13. If you could buy one thing right now what would it be?A new and modern kitchen. 14. Favorite activity that doesn’t cost a dime?Taking a walk with my kids and noticing the things around us. 15. How do you indulge yourself?I take an afternoon nap.
